Mountain Time and the Legend of La Société de la Frontière Ouverte William Graney 9781520609102 Books
This book was a real treat for me this fall season of 2016. Why? Well, it’s because of so many aspects that I must tell you, you will not be disappointed at all! First of all, the book begins with a nurse named Michelle Tonelli-Tanaka who lives in the Seattle, WA area with her husband, a donut shop-owner named Robbie Tanaka. They have two sons, Jeff and Kenji. The book is about this family’s return to their hometown in Mountaintop, a town situated between Seattle and Portland, Oregon. When Michelle, the main character of the book, came across a book that told of mountain caves in Mountaintop, she became interested and decided to check it out for herself. She eventually gathered a group that consisted of her husband, a co-worker named Olivia, and a couple Nathan and Mary who were of Michelle’s parents’ age and went to a cave that Michelle was most interested in. What they discovered in it changed their lives forever! This book is ideal for Christian audiences and the Young Adult group as well. It is simple and a fun read at that. I liked how Graney incorporated Catholicism into this book and described it in a positive light. I enjoyed this story for its comfortable and cozy atmosphere. With mentions of Asian cuisine, Belgian ales, and baked goodies too, I was able to finish this book in just two days. I highly recommend it for all those who miss the culture of the Pacific Northwest, those who enjoy mysticism/mysteries, those who enjoy food, and those who love Christian (Catholic) stories. There is no violence or deviant sex in it, it is a perfect Christmas gift too. Buy it now and you will have no regrets!!!

Mountain Time and the Legend of La Société de la Frontière Ouverte William Graney 9781520609102 Books Reviews
Time is a strange thing, it is fluid and sometime indefinable. For example, did you know that time goes fractionally faster at you head than it does at your feet? Yes, time is certainly a strange thing, which Michelle Tanaka discovers when she returns to the small mountain town she grew up in, and left decades ago for a life in the city. A crystal filled cave, sounds bizarre enough, there is something about the place which doesn't seem to run on the same clock as the rest of the world. Why else would Michelle hear the voice of her dead father coming from within? And ta is not the only voice she hears.
'Mountain Time' is a fantastic mystery novel that has some supernatural twists, in a story that is wonderfully written. It is full of beautiful descriptions that I have come to love of William Graney. Bring on the next Mountaintop novel.
I had not read the previous book 'Mountaintop USA' before picking up Mountain Time by William Graney, but luckily it didn't at all affect my enjoyment of this wonderful novel. The whole thing was beautifully written from beginning to end, which for me, came just too soon. I adored the small time mountain setting, and how Graney really developed his protagonist Michelle, on her return there after two decades. She obviously stayed away so long for a reason, and you really feel the conflict between her dread to return and the draw of the mystery that starts with an overdrawn library book.
After reading this, I will certainly be going back to read Mountaintop USA, as well as some of William Graney's other novels, as Mountain Time has definitely made me a fan.
Mountain Time by William Graney
Diving in, one would not be able to identify this as a possible sequel, however, if Mountain Time is your first run at the story by William Graney, it speaks of its own merits as a storyline. Michelle and Robbie Tanaka uprooted their Seattle city life with their two boys, to settle back in Michelle’s hometown of mountaintop due to an unexpected book to be delivered from the mountaintop library. From cave systems within the mountain range to possible mystic crystals linking the past to present, this is one mystery worth the discovery at the end.
many years after they left Mountaintop for a life in the city. It was a tragedy that took them away from Mountaintop, but it is a mystery that takes Michelle back there, somewhere she promised she wouldn't return. When a library book draws Michelle home, she just can't seem to resist. She can return home, but avoid her past demons by burying herself in a developing mystery, that may unlock secrets that have been kept for generations.
This was a really engrossing read that has lots of intrigue, but also lots of wonder and some very moving moments. Well worth an investment of time, as all good books are.
From accidentally receiving a book from a library in her home town through mystical visits to a cave in the mountains, Michelle Tanaka's life changes in a big way during this book. The story is very well written, keeping the reader wanting more all the way to the end. The setting is amazingly beautiful, a mountainous region that is lovely in every season, and offers a great spot for bringing up a family with two young boys, which keeps Michelle busy in the real world while her mind is untying knots in the mystery she's living. The book is filled with unique, well written characters, and it's a pleasure to watch them change as they learn more about the mysterious and spiritual path where they find themselves. I recommend it to mystery lovers, especially those who like a little fantasy with their facts!
